I read an interesting post recently about the idea of copyrighting "look and feel". Like most things in law, this is probably a debatable question.
I agree with the author, who appears to take the side that look and feel is not copyrightable.
Its always been my opinion that user interfaces are too generic to merit protection, and if they are unique, like the "touch" interface of the iPhone, patent protection is more appropriate.
