This is an interesting article on an Australian group that has a few patents it is trying to use to claim ownership of several IEEE standards:

This is interesting from a technology and a legal standpoint. The players involved? The Australian government, Buffalo Technology, and IEEE. There is a current case between CSIRO and Buffalo, for an INJUNCTION, which is a little heavy handed if you ask me. Even more than heavy handed, strange.
